It’s been a while coming, but the stunning Sony Ericsson X1 is finally about to hit the shops. Is this the king of mobile phones that we’ve all been waiting for? And is this the mobile phone you should buy? Read on to find out why you should get one! The history of Sony Ericsson smartphones The history of the top-end of Sony Ericsson’s range goes back a good few years, back to the days when mobile phones were built like bricks, and did, basically, nothing interesting at all, whatsoever. In fact, it goes back to before they were even Sony Ericsson, back before Sony got involved, and they were just plain, common or garden Ericsson. That first foray into the world of ’smart’ mobile phones was the Ericsson R380, and although it’s nowhere near being even a speck of a patch on modern mobile phones, for the time, it was groundbreaking, with a touchscreen, and a flip (containing the keypad), that folded over the screen. And if that design sounds familiar to Sony Ericsson fans, it should… You see, the same design was used on the iconic Sony Ericsson P800, the first proper, state of the art smartphone from the Swedish/Japanese joint venture. And once again, at the time, it was quite simply light years ahead of all other mobile phones, having a camera (a rarity in them’thar days), full internet access, and music and video playback. Put simply, it was stunning, and with it, Sony Ericsson changed the game. And yes, I had one. And its successor the P900. And the P910. And the Sony Ericsson P990. And the P1. (you may notice that I have a bit of a thing for top-end Sony Ericsson mobile phones). Not all of them have been majorly successful mobile phones, and they had their flaws (the Sony Ericsson P990 springs immediately to mind, in that respect), but they were advanced, powerful mobile phones, and they routinely set benchmarks about what phones could and SHOULD do. Well, there might not be a P-Series Sony Ericsson coming out this year, but it seems their top-end smartphones have a new standard bearer, and a new home. The home is in the Xperia range of mobile phones… And the standard-bearer, the flagship, the new face of smartphones is the glorious Sony Ericsson X1. Sony Ericsson X1 – an objective look at its features I’ll do the objective bit first, since I know full well I’m going to start gushing about the Sony Ericsson X1. Best get the specs out the way before I do, eh? First up is the shell of the Sony Ericsson X1, and even here, is breaking new ground not taken by other mobile phones, with its unique ‘arc slider’ design. Basically, as you slide open the QWERTY keyboard, it angles the screen upwards, to put it at a more natural viewing angle, when you’re typing away. VERY clever, that. In terms of other hardware, the Sony Ericsson X1 also gives you a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA internet access (as well as WiFi), and GPS, putting it right up there in the top echelon of mobile phones. Software-wise, the Sony Ericsson X1 is powered by Windows Mobile, but, like an increasing number of Windows Mobile phones, it uses a proprietary interface on top (the panels interface, in this case), that takes the power of Windows Mobile, and actually makes it user-friendly (surely a first in mobile phone history). All in all, this is one feature-packed and powerful mobile phone. Right, that’s the objective bit out the way, time for me to get all subjective over it. Sony Ericsson X1 – the unprofessional, subjective bit, where I go ’squeeeeeeeeee’ a lot Anyone who’s read my articles in the past will know that when I come across mobile phones that I really, really, really like, I tend to get a bit excited and lose all objectivity. Well, frankly, I’m amazed I’ve kept up the objectivity this far into the article, since I’ve been waiting to get my hands on the Sony Ericsson X1 since February! I mean come on, it’s stunning. I always judge a mobile phone’s quality on how much it makes me want it, and with the X1, Sony Ericsson have got me drooling with anticipation. It’s a true powerhouse of a mobile phone, it looks like a work of art, and I get a little warm tingle inside whenever I look at it. I know full well that’s sad to be in love with a mobile phone, but that’s how good the Sony Ericsson X1 is. I want one. no two ways about it, I want one, and after it gets released tomorrow, I confidently predict you’ll want one too!

The Sony Ericsson “C” series is the cyber-shot camera series of mobile phones. The Sony Ericsson C902 is the successor to the K850, but the “K” series has now been replaced with the “C” series. Beginning with the C702 and the C902 the phones will no longer be called cyber-shot phones but simply “C” series camera phones. The Sony Ericsson C902 is a higher quality camera phone than the K850 and includes a 5 megapixel camera with a PhotoFlash, something new that Sony Ericsson just developed with the production of this new phone series. The Sony Ericsson C902 has a slimmer design and an enhanced camera interface, but other than that there are few improvements over the K850. The design of the Sony Ericsson C902 is different from the K850. The new designed has been dubbed a candybar design and is approximately 40% slimmer than the K850 with a sleeker and more classic look to it. The TFT display 2.0″, smaller than the previous model, a necessary move because of the touch shortcuts that have been added to both sides of the phone’s display screen. The lid on the Sony Ericsson C902 protects both cameras, but you need to open the lid manually to use the one phone, but the other is used for video calling and works without opening the lid. Looking at the design and changes on the Sony Ericsson C902 shows potential customers how Sony Ericsson works to keep up with the changes in demand and technology. The same holds true of their other phones as well such as the “W” series which is the walkman series designed specifically as a music phone. Sony Ericsson designs these two series’ with extra quality for those functions though many users would prefer the high quality of both functions in each model. Other than the inability to have high quality in both music and camera through each series of phones, there are little complains about the quality of any Sony Ericsson phone. When you’re looking for a high quality camera phone, you can be sure Sony Ericsson can meet the demand and compete with the ever changing technology. Wherever that need leads the mobile phone industry, you will find Sony Ericsson right there. Read any Sony Ericsson C902 review and you will discover the satisfaction that is among the users. The Sony Ericsson C902 is just another high quality mobile phone with the Sony Ericsson name on it. Mobile phone deals make it even sweeter because you don’t have to pay full price to own this high quality camera phone. The Sony Ericsson C902 is the latest but probably not the greatest of the Sony Ericsson camera phones. As the future progresses, you will soon more and better quality camera phones with the Sony Ericsson name on them, but thus far the Sony Ericsson C902 is the best Sony Ericsson has released so far. With each series you will find higher quality and some added enhancements that will guarantee even better picture taking and video recording.

During 2008, one manufacturer is set on moulding the world of camera-equipped mobile phones. That manufacturer is Sony Ericsson, and they plan to dominate the planet with not one but two top-end camera phones!Camera phones evolve – the world created by Sony Ericsson It’s quite apt, really, that Sony Ericsson should be the ones leading the way in the coming paradigm shift in camera-equipped mobile phones. I mean, it was they who began it all, way back in 2002. Let’s not forget that they were the first company to unleash a mobile phone that’d got a camera built in, within the British marketplace. That mobile was the Sony Ericsson P800, but it didn’t get the mass market penetration Sony Ericsson would’ve liked, because an incredibly (for the time) high-end smartphone. However, their most iconic device ever was about to be unleashed, and that one WOULD get great market penetration. That was the Sony Ericsson T610, and it moved the goalposts. Here was a device that stood proudly over the other mobile phones it was up against. It was small, it was sexy, and customers ADORED it. The key thing was… the Sony Ericsson T610 had also got an integrated camera, and that it was really the first handset to hit that wider market, and make people go, ‘Hang on, we actually do want our mobile phones to have cameras in ‘em!’As camera phones get more advanced what were top-end mobile phones become more affordable, mid-range phones. Well, that’s exactly what’s happened with the gorgeous Sony Ericsson C902!Sony Ericsson C902 – the top-end becomes the mid-range When the world saw its first 5 megapixel mobile phone, no-one could believe they were seeing it, since the biggest, to that point, had been 3 megapixels. Nowadays, though, 5 megapixel mobile phones are common but that doesn’t mean they’re not fabulous. That’s borne out by the Sony Ericsson C902, an absolutely gorgeous little 5 megapixel phone! With a super slim body, and sliding camera cover, the Sony Ericsson C902 is one of those mobile phones that blurs the lines between camera and phone more than any other handsets. The Sony Ericsson C902 is quite simply a stunner, producing photos, and with things like media player, super fast internet and GPS, it just gets better and better. The Sony Ericsson C902 is truly brilliant. But… no matter how good it is, the Sony Ericsson C902 isn’t the best mobile phone in their portfolio. That honour (in terms of camera phones) belongs to just one handset: the Sony Ericsson C905.Sony Ericsson C905 – the best camera phone EVER? There’s no denying power, and one thing is for certain: the Sony Ericsson C905’s got vastly more raw power than all other mobile phones you can buy in the UK. Why is it so special? Well, this is the first camera phone to be unveiled in the UK that’s got an 8 megapixel camera. That’s right. 8. That’s a frighteningly big pixel resolution, and it means that the Sony Ericsson C905 gives you the power to take the absolute most incredible pictures you’ve ever witnessed, from any camera-equipped mobile phone, in the world. Oh, and on top of that, let’s not forget that Sony Ericsson have packed it full of Cyber-Shot brilliance, and that will make the photos coming out of it even more vibrant. Combine that with a top of the range multimedia player, WiFi, HSDPA and built-in GPS, and the end result is that the Sony Ericsson C905 is, quite simply, the king of the hill. Combined with the slightly lower spec, but also lower priced Sony Ericsson C902, these two mobile phones really can’t fail!
